Developing product ideas and nurturing them to being a finished “thing” that I can hold in my hands and create with is one of the more awesome parts of my job. The Disc Bound Joggles Watercolor Journals you see in today’s video have been percolating for quite some time. Ideas for various sizes and configurations have come and gone until I finally got off the fence and put them into production.
It’s with no small sense of relief and a great deal of excitement that I can share them with you today!
Made from Strathmore’s 140# cold pressed watercolor paper, three sizes debut in the video: 4″ x 6″, 6″ x 6″, and 9″ x 5″. So a square, plus one oriented in both the landscape and portrait options. Extra pages because you want to fatten up yours? Yep, got them too along with extra discs if you want to play on your own.
One of the biggest “must haves” for these journals was ease of removal and insertion of pages. I’ve long desired one where I could take a page out, create with no restrictions, then pop it right back in. Mission accomplished! Now I can work without a binding getting in the way or the concern that what I spray right now leaks to an already completed page.
I hope you’re as excited by the endless possibilities these journals offer as I am. Now that they’re here I plan to play in them often!

OMG those journals are just what I have wanted! I really prefer to work on separate pages and have been trying to come up with a good way to bind them afterward. I will definitley buy one of these! Are there any plans to make a larger size? I am finding that I am liking to work bigger sometimes, 8×11 or 9×12.
Thanks Debbie! Yes, larger sizes will be coming eventually. :+)

These are awesome. I can see combining all 3 sizes in the same journal. The long pages could be folded to the same size as the square one and then use it as a flap or glue/stitch it to become a tuck spot. The possibilities are endless and very exciting! Great idea, Barb 🙂
Oooh, good idea – I never even thought of that!! Thanks very much. :+)
awesome idea for journals. thank you for producing them
Thanks very much!
I love the idea, do you think the discs will be available in brighter colors? Purple, pink, yellow, blue……
Right now I’m unable to get anything other than black, but will keep trying for other colors!
Very nice – this could be addicting!!! 🙂
Thanks! I think I’m already half way there… :+P
LOVE LOVE LOVE these Watercolor Journals. I have to have them! I think an even larger size would be great, Barb! Thanks so much for this awesome concept that will be brought to life in our craft rooms! I’m obsessed with them already!
Thanks Caroline! Larger ones will be forthcoming. No date yet, but they’re on my short term list!
