More Creating With Collage Napkins
June 3, 2018

We just received an order of new collage napkins and in today’s quickie video I’m showing you some of the designs and sharing suggestions for ways to incorporate them into your projects.  Working with these napkins is really enjoyable, primarily because of the marvelous imagery.  Printed in bright, beautiful colors, the imagery features all kinds of subjects: animals, flowers, abstract, insects.  There’s even one with Alice In Wonderland characters!

There are three basic steps to working with these napkins: separate the top, printed ply from the other two, select and remove the element/s you want to work with, adhere to your surface.

It really is that easy!

Thanks for this video – basic understanding needed by me. I thought the white edges would show up and was going to tediously cut them away – hence why I haven’t yet used my napkins that I bought a month ago. This frees me to begin my collage journey. I would love my trash cans to all have fun little creatures on them somewhere. My old house had bees coming out of an electric outlet, a grasshopper on the baseboard, butterflies going up one cabinet, a mouse in the corner of the laundry room, and a spider in the corner of my kitchen. I LOVED that old house! Those were transfers that worked well on smooth painted surfaces but my new home has rougher textured walls so I’ve decided the trash cans will become my canvas this time. What I want most is to paint/stencil the large garbage can outside. Would love to paint tall flowers growing up the sides and trees, grass, animals, clouds, etc. Why not look good since I do have to look at it. Just haven’t decided what to use yet that will withstand the elements. Thanks Barb, for all your inspiration.

I love the scotch tape procedure for separating the layers. I love working with napkins and always find that separating the layers is a pains. thanks for that tip!
