I have a special video treat today, one that I know you’re going to enjoy. Jenn Engle, who with DeeDee Catron are the creative forces behind the “Our Mixed Media Moods” duo you may be a fan of, has been working with our Black Disc Bound Journals. She’s created several pages and spreads and videoed the process for one of the 6″ x 6″ size, pretty much from start to finish. I’m always fascinated watching other artists’ creative processes; seeing how they work and get from point A to B. Seeing the stops and starts, the things that get covered up, and then sometimes are revealed a little further along.
Using Dylusions Paint, Foam Stamps, and Creative Art Textures (among other supplies), she created a really interesting page that takes full advantage of the heavyweight black paper. It’s an awesome contrast to the bright colors of Dylusions Paint, allowing the colors to really come to life. Even better? How well the paper holds up under all of the paint and liquid she throws at it.
I hope you enjoy watching Jenn’s creative process with our Black Disc Bound Journal pages. I know I did!

Thanks for a great video and inspiration, Jenn! And Joggles!
Wow, so impressed with the vibrancy of the Dylusions paints and Oxide Inks on the black pages. Thanks Joggles and Jenn for the inspiration.
Love these pages…..i just got my black pages and was wow’ed by the thickness of them. Like Barbara said….she spent quite a while looking for the right black surface and she nailed it !!!!!
