After using foils with Alcohol Ink last Wednesday I decided to play with them separately, to see how I could add fun effects to things other than the inks. That’s what I demo in today’s video as I use them with a Dyary Glue Stick, stencils, and to embellish Stamperia Rice Paper. And with my fingers. Which make fine glue applicators! I really like the look and best of all… the techniques are simple.
Depending on how much foil you add you can end up with a really subtle application or one where the foil is much more evident. I like being able to control the density and how much mirroring and pattering I end up with. Foils… they’re wonderful and wonderfully versatile!

Your mind is a genius creative machine… If I had a little more money I would buy it all. However, the rate of exchange to Canadian dollars is too high. Keep on showing us more creative stuff, I love it.
Do you think you could stamp with the glue and then foil it?
Yes, you can. Just choose a stamp that’s not overly detailed. The glue is thicker than ink from a pad and you probably won’t be able to create the same level of detail.
Great video. Thanks for all the ideas and ways to use the foil.
I just loved this video and immediately bought some foil. Here is a page I did using alcohol inks and the foils. I did try stamping with the glue and then foiling it, it worked great, The little stars around the edge were done with this technique.
Here is the page…
