In November, shortly after the Fearless Face Stencil System debuted, Virginia England designed a jointed doll pattern meant to be used with the small head. The pattern includes the body and body parts, and the user creates a head using the small one from the stencils.
I thought it would be fun if the four of us, Bonnie, Margaret, Virginia, and moi, challenged ourselves to create an elf using the pattern and small face. I’ve dubbed the group the Fab Four and what you see here are the result of that challenge.
If you would like to try creating an elf, you will need to click here to download Virginia’s Jointed Doll pattern and will need at least one of the face styles (round or square) and at least one of the six options of facial features. Click here to see the Fearless Face Stencil System.
If you want to watch the video where I demo how to use the stencils, click here. To see the post where Virginia’s original jointed doll was presented, click here. You’ll find lots of additional face photos in that post too.
Margaret’s Elf
Virginia is an overachiever and made two. One elf and a fairy. Both fabulous!
Bonnie, another overachiever, also made two. Also utterly fabulous. And in true Bonnie fashion, there’s a little black. Because a little black makes everything so much better.
And here’s mine. Four artists with four distinct styles. What will YOU do??

I absolutely love how different they all are. They really show the many possibilities. Love all of the details and expressions. Thanks to Margaret for the stencil designs, to Virginia for the doll template, and to Barb for including me in her fabulous idea. I had a blast! I can’t wait to see what others create 🙂
Well done, Fab Four! These are all terrific!!!
Thanks Cheryl. We had fun!
