The second release of Dyary products included 4 sets of Dy-Cuts; two that are black and white and two colored in Dyan’s fun and funky style. Also included were Washi Tape strips and Back Chat stickers that are Dy-isms; fun and snarky sayings and words.
While I haven’t been able to keep a planner this year, I still wanted to incorporate these items in my art. They’re too awesome to keep in the planner “box”, so consider today’s video my way of creating outside that box. Cards, my Art Cards, and though I’m not keeping a planner, I do use the Leuchtturm journals to organize things like videos, our sales, and all kinds of other Joggles stuff.
My technique for coloring the black and white Dy-Cuts is to use either Dylusions Ink Sprays or Distress Spray Stains in Tim’s Detail Water Brushes and to stroke the color on. It creates results that are watercolor-like but are easy to do. In the video I’ll show you how and will also demo how I use a Water Brush with just water in it to add only a light wash of color to various places.
Embellishing can be done in all sorts of ways. Today I’m using Stickles, Liquid Pearls, and Marabu’s Fashion Liner (which is for more than fabric!) to effectively doodle on the Dy-Cuts, cards, and other bits I work on. The Art Cards you’ll see are pieces that stand alone or can be layered on a journal page or become the focal point of a card.
There’s no doubt coloring is fun and working with Dyan’s images just makes it more so!
