It’s easy to get bogged down in day-to-day tasks, even creative ones, and lose sight of projects that are on the “I need to do that!” list. It happens to me and I’m guessing it happens to some of you too. The best intentions can get sidetracked and the next thing you know that project, whatever it was, gets completely forgotten about.
ATCs have kind of been that for me, at least lately. I’ve previously made my share of them, but art journaling and other more recently popular types of creating have pushed ATCs far into the background of late. (as in the last couple of years or more!)
When we received our first shipment of That’s Crafty Dinky Stencils, which are perfectly sized to fit an ATC, I had a moment… an a-ha moment when it occurred to me that it had been a very long time since I’d worked on those baseball card sized bits of creative wonder.
I was determined to get to ATCs and in today’s video you’ll see my approach to creating them; Distress Crayon, Ink Sprays, and watercolor backgrounds all combined with the huge assortment of imagery available in the Dinky Stencil line, plus some other added bits to make ’em even more fun.
When was the last time you created an ATC??

Thank you for all the options. Looks like fun.
You’re welcome! The process really is fun. And easy!
Love the dinky stencils. Can’t wait to get my hands on this latest batch!
Barbara, Thank you so very much for the fabulous tutorial! It was so fun and inspiring to watch, and as a matter of fact, it has inspired me to go to my art table and make some ATCs, using the techniques you suggested. This is also a great idea for me right noww, for I absolutely need to get several thank you notes out, and these will be great focal point pieces. You are still the best, in my opinion….
You’re welcome.
I’m glad that the video inspired you to create. Mission accomplished!
I’m always thrilled when this happens. :+)
