DT Post – Kim Fuller’s Shabby Angel Accordion Book
      December 9, 2016

      sa1

Good morning Joggles fans, Kim here today with my latest DT project for Joggles. I have altered one of the Accordion Books from Joggles and made it into a Shabby Angel-themed Mini Album.

      sa2

      sa3

      Supply List:

      Joggles Accordion Book – 6 x 6 inches – 10 panels

Joggles Sticky Snippets – Small Stars

Prima Art Alchemy Paint: Opal Magic Aqua-Rose, Metallique Light Patina

Tim Holtz Distress Stain Sprays: Brushed Pewter, Broken China

Other: Prima Colour Bloom Spray – Soft Teal, paint brushes, Petaloo Flowers, Prima Holly Leaves, pearls, laces and papers from your stash, resin angel, glue, wood or chipboard embellishments, digital images or collage sheet images.

      sa4

So, lets get started! The first thing you want to do is adhere papers with craft glue to each page of your Accordion Book. I used some paper from my stash in colours that I liked.  Since I used the 6 x 6 inch accordion book and also 6 x 6 inch paper, it made it very easy. This is a fun project, and there are 10 pages in the book to decorate any way you like.

      sa5

Once you have added paper to your book, it is time to start adding the embellishments to make each page unique. I started by layering on both laces and trims. Once I was happy with the lace on the cover, I added more embellishments and my image.

      sa6

Now it was time to play with the Small Stars Sticky Snippets! I spritzed with Color Bloom Turquoise and the Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Spray Stain, drying between each layer until I was happy with how it looked.

      sa7

I used the Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Pewter to do a cross hatch effect on the Sticky Snippets.

      sa8

I used the stars to add dimension and interest to the cover.

      sa10

I also added some bling from my stash to add a bit of sparkle.

      sa11

      sa12

I added some of the gorgeous and sparkly Prima Holly leaves in a rose gold colour to the front of the book, and also some Petaloo flowers, as well.

      sa13

A resin angel, to which I added glitter, and some pearls and bling from my stash finished off the cover nicely.

      sa14

Next, it was time to paint my wood embellishments. I used various colours of the Prima Art Alchemy Paints. There is a wide variety of colours in this line, so use your imagination and get creative!

      sa15

I continued on with my pages, adding lace, trims, and more embellishments.

      sa20

I also adhered a ribbon tie to the front and back covers, tucking the ribbon under the paper for a good strong hold.

      sa21

As the book turned out to be so thick with all the embellishments, this was a good solution for keeping it tied shut when it wasn’t being displayed open.

      sa22

      sa23

I left a couple of the pages blank, as this is going to be a Christmas gift for a friend and she may want to add her own touches to the album or some Christmas photos of family and friends.

      sa24

I added some laces and trims to the last few pages which she can finish off to her liking.

      sa25

Below is a photo of the open book . You can see it would make a lovely display for the holidays or any time of year.

      sa26

      sa27

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I had a lot of fun with this project, and I hope you will give altering one of the Accordion books a try!
