Today I’m working with what I think of as journal page additions; items I add to the surface of a page that become part of the overall design, or that serve a specific purpose. Sounds mysterious, huh? Well, it kind of is and it’s big fun too!
By cutting doors in tags, setting a tag with a flap on a page so it folds down to reveal what’s underneath, or using a door stamp (thanks Stampotique!) you can create a place to peer into, or a place where a figure can be peering out at you. Envelopes from the Maya Road sets offer surfaces to embellish as well as a place to tuck a surprise or meaningful note. You’ll even see me use one of those kraft envelopes as the body for a paperdoll-like figure. There is no end to the ways you can combine them with rubber stamped images to make all kinds of fun journal page additions.
