Using Tumble Dyes On Fabric, Paper & More

SEI’s Tumble Dyes are our product du jour and I’m going to show you how to create all kinds of fun, fabulous fabric using them and stencils, plus some other simple techniques for tie dying, adding color to lace, and using Tumble Dyes on paper. They’re suitable for all kinds of porous surfaces, so get your goodies ready to be colored – to the extreme if you wish – using Tumble Dyes!

There are 18 colors in the line and they’re all water based and intermixable, which means 18 colors can become as many as you can create when you mix them. They’re packaged in spray bottles, and like all kinds of spray products they’re easy to apply with a simple spritz. You can also empty the contents of the bottle into a container and dip items in it, and of course you can apply Tumble Dyes with a brush.

Those of you who are not sewers or fabric-users might wonder what Tumble Dyes can do for you. The answer is easy; most anything! Since they’re suitable for paper you can use them that way, and if you find yourself enamored with the way they look on fabric, the video includes several easy projects that can be hand sewn. No sewing machine? No problem! You can still create something really nice using fabric, even a cool journal!
