Faber Castell Gelatos: Lime, Snow Cone, Boysenberry, Lemon, Cherry, Mango, Passion Fruit
Dina Wakley Media White Gesso – 4oz Jar
Other Supplies: Heat Tool, baby wipes, Gel Medium such as Dina Wakley Media Gel Medium, card stock, foam brush or cosmetic sponges.
Here is my process:
Working on a NonStick Craft Sheet, apply white Gesso to Mixed Media Paper using brush; let dry.
Use paper trimmer to cut panel to desired size. Save other piece for future use.
Add desired colors of Gelatos to the panel. I used Boysenberry, Snow Cone, and Lime.
Spritz with water. Let dry before proceeding to next step.
Place stencil over panel, use a baby wipe to remove color. If you did not gesso your panel, this step will not work well.
Remove stencil and set aside. Let dry.
With Jet Black Archival Ink, stamp images onto deli paper as well as the extra panel you applied gesso to. Cut out houses.
Using the Waterbrush, apply color to the houses as desired with Gelatos. I used Lemon, Cherry, Mango, Lime, Snow Cone, and Passion Fruit.
Place Joggles Punchinella Trio 1 stencil over colored house and use a baby wipe to remove color as desired. Repeat with the other houses.
Tear pieces of the stamped deli paper. Apply to houses as desired using Gel Medium. Let dry.
Apply stamped deli paper to background panel as shown using Gel Medium.
Let dry.
Adhere houses to base panel using Gel Medium. Let dry. If desired, sponge edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Adhere to card stock panels.
Here’s another view of my finished card. Wouldn’t this be a cute “Welcome to the neighborhood” card?
The Gelatos are just another FUN and easy way to add color to your Mixed Media projects! I hope I’ve inspired you to create art!
