Ranger and Tim Holtz released the Distress Paper Mosaic Kit a few weeks ago and a number of people wrote to ask if I would film a video about how to use it.
I’m nothing if not accommodating, and today’s video is my take on working with the product. Of course that means I’ve veered off to a somewhat different path than what other artists have done. Rather than just using random small bits of paper, I decided to incorporate collage sheet images along with those bits, and put that all together on a Wonky Wood House. I also used larger collage sheet images, cut into square tiles or long rectangular pieces, for an entirely different look.
In addition to collage sheet imagery and small bits of paper, you can use photos or leftover cards, your own drawings, or anything you wish. Think of the kit as the backup singer and your imagery as the star, just waiting for a chance to shine.
