Good Morning, Amy here, and today I’m excited to share with you a few fun and quirky Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) I made using a few of Joggles and Joggles/Bloobel stamps. Joggles Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps are so much fun to play with, as they give a crisp impression every time. Barbara carries such a fun variety, too- there is something for everyone and every occasion! Here’s my tutorial on using these quirky stamps to make a few ATC’s.
Supplies used:
Canson Watercolor Paper – 9″ x 12″ 90# Cold Pressed
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals– Tiffanylou’s Blue, Queen of Hearts Red and Curiouser Chartreuse
Joggles Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp – Horace
Joggles / Bloobel Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp – Funny Bunny #1
Joggles / Bloobel Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp – Sally Surprise
Joggles Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp – Message In A Bubble – Believe
Joggles / Margaret Applin Designs Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp – Grunge Stars Border
Finnabair Clear Stamps – Messy
Idea-ology by Tim Holtz – [TH93193] Small Talk
Spectrum Noir Markers
Zig 2 Way Glue
Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze
Black Cardstock
Spectrum Noir Ultrasmooth Premium Cardstock
Archival Ink Pads: , Jet Black, Aquamarine and Leaf Green
Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media 3 Thinlits Die
Fiskars 1/8 Inch Circle Hand Punch
Metal Brads
Here is my process:
Start by adding the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals to your watercolor paper. I used Tiffanylou’s Blue, Queen of Hearts Red and Curiouser Chartreuse here. The Tiffanylou’s Blue is a shimmer powder so it leaves a pretty blue shimmer after the water has been added. Oooooo love!
Spray your watercolor paper with water and move the paper around so the colors blend together. Dry with your heat gun and cut it down to 2.25 x 3.25 inches. This will allow for the 2.5 x 3.5 inches (standard size for ATC’s) black cardstock base which we will adhere it to later and give us a nice border around our ATCs. Do not throw out the scrap pieces as we will use some of them later on. :o)
Stamp Horace, Funny Bunny #1 and Sally Surprise Joggles Cling Stamps onto the Spectrum Noir Ultrasmooth Premium Cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. This paper is great for coloring with Alcohol Markers. :o)
Color your images with your medium of choice and fussy cut them out. I used Spectrum Noir Markers here. I cut off the bottom of Sally’s present in order to have her fit on the ATC but it looks as if she’s peeking in. LOL!
Using Grunge Stars Borders Joggles Cling Stamp and Aquamarine Archival Ink, stamp the image randomly onto your three pieces of the watercolor paper.
Using the Finnabair Clear Stamp, Messy, and Leaf Green Archival Ink, stamp the text randomly onto your ATC pieces.
Die cut some Black Cardstock using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media 3 Thinlits Die and cut pieces to adhere to your ATCs with Zig 2 Way Glue. Dies are great for added texture on small pieces like ATCs but you can use any stencils like Joggles Skinny Minny Mask – Pebbly with texture paste as well.
I like to use the Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze on any colored items I may be using a Matte Medium on. This helps to protect your images from any other medium you may use. Just dip your finger into the wax and rub onto your pieces and then rub off gently with a paper towel. I also used the Distress Micro Glaze on my ATC pieces to seal the Magicals and prevent any smearing in our upcoming steps.
Stamp Messages In A Bubble- Believe Joggles Cling Stamp using Claret StazOn Midi Ink onto scrap pieces of your watercolor paper and fussy cut. Using a 1/8’ hole punch or paper piercer, punch holes on your sentiments and ATC pieces and adhere together using metal brads.
Adhere your images to your ATCs with Golden Matte Medium and, once dry, adhere them to black cardstock cut at 2.5 x 3.5 inches which is the standard size for ATCs. This is also where you will see how well the Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze works. Your Magicals will not smear with the Matte Medium like other watercolor mediums can and allow for great layering with different mediums. :o)
The last step is to slide your “Believe” sentiments out of the way and add sentiments from the Idea-ology by Tim Holtz -Small Talk in behind them. Now your “Believe” sentiment acts as a door to a little sentiment behind it. :o)
Here’s a closer look at the ATCS with these fun and quirky stamps and sentiments:

Wow Amy A, there sure are some GREAT ideas you shared with us here. I sort of feel my mojo creeping back upon me and thinking in terms of tags for my surface. Thanks for some inspiration – my mojo left for a walk some time ago now … and I’m waiting for its return!!!
