S U P P L I E S and P A T T E R N S

The patterns - click here to download them  **  Wool Felt - 12" x 18" sheets are suitable for all sizes of the purses  **  Lining Fabric - I used batiks, but any cotton fabric is good  **  Stacey Shape Flex 101 **  Caron Watercolors threads  **  Air soluble marking pen or you can use the water soluble version  **  Beads for embellishing.  Size 8 seed beads are the best for the flap.  The holes are large enough to pass the needle and watercolor threads through.  We have both Miyuki and TOHO 8/0 seed beads  Sizes 11/0 and 15/0 are great to use on the body of the purses  **  Czech glass buttons  **  Mother of Pearl buttons

The two heart shaped purses you saw me demo in the video.  I added a Czech glass button as the faux closure.  The weight of the button helps keep the flap in the closed position.

I beaded the flap of this one - they're size 8/0 pink TOHOs.  The Watercolour thread is one that changes from pink to green and so the beads coordinate with the thread.

This time I used Miyuki 15/0 seed beads and randomly applied them to the front and flap of the purse.

I chose to add beaded fringe to the flap of this purse.  Size 11/0 seed beads and daggers are what the fringe is made from.

These are purses I made when the first tutorial went live.  There's an endless number of ways to embellish them!

Here's the pocket in place and the flap too.  I couldn't resist beading the flap here too, again, with size 8/0 seed beads.

And the view with the flap closed.  I didn't get time to make the buttonhole and add the button, but this view of the original purse I made shows them both...

Here's the finished pocket.  The flap isn't sitting perfectly, but if I'd ironed it correctly it would be!  Never the less, you see what it looks like once it's finished.

This is the gusseted purse I stitched in the video.  A close up of the gusset...

There it is, all stitched and finisheed.

This is the one I was stitching in the video at the beginning.  It's the small, coin style, and is made without a gusset.  This is about as simple as it gets!
