This book is a great place to save all those tickets, name and luggage tags, invitations, and prized photos of a trip or personal event in a special memory book. Learn to make a sheet of “fabric paper” using decorative papers, fabrics, and imagery including stamps, photos for the cover and end pages. The pages include pockets and photo corners to hold memories. A simple hand-stitched binding technique binds the gold deckled edged signatures together.

The book can be made before or after your trip and taken along to add sketches “plein aire”– or use some of your photos to make sketches when at home.

Lesson One:
Design and create stained paper fabric for cover and end paper art.
Design your own cover using fabrics, images and memorabilia from your trip or event.
Make decorative cording for the cover details and embellishment.
Begin embellishment for cover art.

Lesson Two:
Create the cover foundation and signatures out of watercolor paper.
Create stained or painted deckle edges, and pockets for storing
ephemera, photos, tickets, tags, etc. If you like you can add sketches from vistas or photos to decorate your pages.
Learn a simple stitched binding technique to sew the signatures to the cover.
Continue embellishment for cover art.

Lesson Three:
Complete embellish for the cover with stitch, beads and charms.
Add edge finish of cording and beads to cover.
Attach end papers and cover to bound book.
Create spine embellishment with cording, beads, and charms.
Fill the book with memories.

A high speed connection to the internet is recommended for all students.

In order to participate in online classes at joggles you are expected to have basic computer and internet skills. You need to be able to browse the internet, know how to download and save a document to your PC's hard drive, and understand how to open and save email attachments. It is your responsibility to learn these skills before the class begins.

Please be certain you are comfortable with all of these skills. Class fees will not be refunded once the class has begun.
