Creating a great quilt is all about the fabric. Have you ever spent hours looking for just the right design and color to add that special something to your quilt? In this class we will learn to create our own fabric with a focus on landscape elements. We will be using transparent fabric paints to make beautiful fabrics that are one of a kind and uniquely your own. These paints are easy to use and even someone who feels that they are not an artist and can’t draw a straight line, can learn the techniques to create spectacular fabrics, dramatic sunsets and amazing landscapes. So join me for a fun and exciting new way to add some great fabrics to your stash. This may just be the thing you need to take your quilts to the next level!

Lesson 1: In this first lesson we will discuss color choices, setting up your work area and what to expect from the paints. Next you will have the opportunity to practice using the paints. You will try several different easy techniques including sun printing, spattering, tying and folding.

Lesson 2: Now that you have had some experience exploring and using the paints, we will focus on creating beautiful skies. We will start with some simple techniques to create basic blue skies and move on to creating exciting sunrises, sunsets, stormy and night skies.

Lesson 3: This week we will learn how to paint an entire landscape. We will create water, hills, mountains, rocks and fields of flowers. These impressionistic landscapes can stand on their own as a beautiful quilt to hang on your walls or put several together and create an amazing bed quilt.

Lesson 4: In our final lesson we will create textures that can be used for tree bark, rocks and leaves. Then we will discuss quilting and finishing options for you landscapes.

The supply list will be sent to all students one week before the class starts. Once you buy this class you will receive an email order confirmation, but you will not hear from us again until the supply list is sent.

A high speed connection to the internet is recommended for all students.

In order to participate in online classes at joggles you are expected to have basic computer and internet skills. You need to be able to browse the internet, know how to download and save a document to your PC's hard drive, and understand how to open and save email attachments. It is your responsibility to learn these skills before the class begins.

Please be certain you are comfortable with all of these skills. Class fees will not be refunded once the class has begun.
