Please join me for this “online only” class where we will create a beautiful, altered suitcase ( approx. 10” x 8” x 3”), decorated with transparency transfers, rubber stamping, clip art, lace, braid, ribbon and buttons trims. We will also add tiny tags, keys and a padlock.

A stack of three, once transformed by you, would look wonderful in your studio or on top of your favorite dresser and will provide perfect, dust-free storage for your treasured souvenirs, photographs, lace and button collection etc.

They also make unique gifts for family members or perhaps for a new bride in which she could store all her special mementoes.

In lesson 1 :- We will paint a papier mache suitcase ( Barbara has sourced the perfect cases) with acrylic paint and begin layering transparency images onto the case. We will also add rubber stamping for decoration across the case.

In lesson 2 :- Now we will add color to our stamped areas, using a direct-to-paper coloring method, along with watercolor paints and metallic markers. Clip art may be added at this stage.

In lesson 3 :- Now for the fun part – adding lace, braids, buttons and trims. We will add netting or old lace around the outer edges of the case, along with further finishing touches.

In lesson 4 :- Finally, we will alter the handle to co-ordinate with your completed case. We will make tiny travel and memorabilia tags to tie onto the handle with ribbons and other decorations. The case can now be lined with speciality tissue and I will show you how to avoid all those annoying creases.

The supply list will be sent to all students one week before the class starts. Once you buy this class you will receive an email order confirmation, but you will not hear from us again until the supply list is sent.

A high speed connection to the internet is recommended for all students.

In order to participate in online classes at joggles you are expected to have basic computer and internet skills. You need to be able to browse the internet, know how to download and save a document to your PC's hard drive, and understand how to open and save email attachments. It is your responsibility to learn these skills before the class begins.

Please be certain you are comfortable with all of these skills. Class fees will not be refunded once the class has begun.
