This class is scheduled to begin on July 13, 2010.

“You can’t prevent the birds of worry from passing over your head, but you can stop them making a nest in your hair.” – Chinese Proverb. This quote got me to thinking about a doll with a nest in her hair, but not worried one little bit about it. Just like people who finally stop worrying about the little things, Ms. Bird welcomes the wee-winged things that make nests in hair.

In this class I would love to teach you to create your own Ms. Bird, in all her beauty, from paper clay, crepe paper, wire and wood. She has a wooden theatre inside her 18th century open-front gown and a bird nest (complete with eggs!) in her hair. We’ll also create the wired paper flowers that embellish the theatre, and the front of her dress.

Week 1: Beginning with some prep work this week, and starting the theatre.

Week 2: We’ll devote ourselves to creating Ms. Bird’s head, torso, and arms; we won’t neglect to create the little bird and her eggs!

Week 3: During this week we’ll finish the head/bust and the bird and attach them to the theatre.

Week 4: Dressing Ms. Bird is first priority this week!

Week 5: Finally we’ll fashion the paper flowers and finish any other little items we might need to do.

The supply list will be sent to all students one week before the class starts. Once you buy this class you will receive an email order confirmation, but you will not hear from us again until the supply list is sent.

A high speed connection to the internet is recommended for all students.
