S U P P L I E S Dylusions Stamp sets ** Dylusions Ink sprays ** Color Wash sprays ** Tim Holtz Waterbrush - detail tip or flat tip ** Acrylic blocks to mount the stamps ** Archival ink pads ** Gelly Roll pens to add sparkle and glimmer to your stamped images ** Tags to stamp on or or Visual Journals **
Little birds! The birds and flowers are from the How Does Your Garden Grow set and the birds were "painted" with Dylusions Ink sprays and Color Wash sprays that I'd put in Tim's detail pointed waterbrush. Talk about easy - using the waterbrushes this way makes painting your images a snap!. The base/border is from Bordering On The Edge as is the squiggly line that is the stem of the flowers. The pennants along the top are from Bags Of Bunting. Once I was finished stamping I decided the piece needed something more, so I used a white Gelly Roll pen to outline various bits.
This is the tag you saw me stamp with the spiral design from the Background Love set and some Sap Green Archival Ink. It's very subtle, which is just the look I was trying for.
This one, however, is not so subtle. The stamp is also from the Background Love set and I inked it randomly (using Archival Deep Purple) just as I did the spiral stamp in the video, then applied parts of it in a haphazard pattern on the tag. I love the look of the various purples together.
Border stamps aren't relegated to borders only! This one is from the Inbetweenies set and makes an interesting background. Anything can be layered over the top now to finish the tag.
Pennants are not just for hanging! Turn them upside down and they make great hats. The pennants that are her hat are from the Bags Of Bunting set. The face is from Bits Of This, and the vine I used for the stem is from Around The Edge. Not to be confused with "Further" Round The Edge which is a different set and is where the curvy pennant border at the top and bottom of the piece are from. The cardstock is Ranger's Inkssentials Manila Cardstock and measures 8 1/2" x 11". Jess colored the background using various colors of Dylusions Ink sprays.
And body parts can be used interchangeably. These legs are from the Curious Corrin set and the rest of the figure has been cobbled together from other bits.
The figure is from the Dependable Dotty set, the leaves in the background are from Further Round The Edge, and the text is from Quintessential Quotes. I used metallic Gelly Roll pens to draw the border and also to color in the dots on her sleeves and the strips on her pocket. Her body was colored with Prismacolor pencils.
Another example using text from Quintessential Quotes. The figure is from Doolally Dorris and the leaves/flowers from How Does Your Garden Grow.
Waaay at the top of this page, the first sample is of birds from the How Does Your Garden Grow. They were painted with Color Wash and Dylusions Ink sprays that I'd diluted with water and used to fill the detail tip version of Tim's waterbrushes. I have a bunch of them that are filled with various colors. It makes painting and coloring so easy. The leaves in this tag are from the Further Round The Edge set. They were stamped with black Archival Ink and the first thing I did was lay a wash of Lettuce Color Wash over all of the leaves. Next I used Stream Color Wash, also diluted with water, and painted on the darker shadow on each of the leaves. The highlights were added with white Gelly Roll pen. It went very fast and I really love the look.
This is the tag I stamped the border image from the Inbetweenies set on in the video. If you look closely you'll see the original pink color I used which didn't contrast very well. I over stamped it with black Archival ink and the lower part was offset just a bit.
The same stamp, this time with Aquamarine Archival ink. |
