Distress Stains  **  Color Wash sprays  **  Dylusions Spray Inks  **  Lumiere paint  **  Tags  **  Visual Journals  **  Gesso  **  Distress Inkpads  **  Titanium White heavy body acrylic paint  **  Inkssentials NonStick Craft Sheet  **  Gelly Roll pens

Splat in action!  This is one of my favorite techniques using Distress Stains.  I love the burst effect it produces.  I used a Gelly Roll pens to write the letters and outlined them with a black Pitt pen in the superfine point.  The stamp is from Stampotique Originals and is called Prom Queen.  I love her attitude!

This is the tag from the video. I used Gelly Roll pens to add circles and dots to the center of the splats and to outline the burst lines.  They're hard to see in this photo, but they're there.

Saran Wrap technique used on a #12 tag where I sprayed Color Wash.  The tag absorbs the color less quickly than the page from the Visual Journal which is why there's more texture.  The same effect can be had using Dylusions Ink Sprays.  If you want intense and vibrant, they're the thing!

This is the page from a Visual Journal with the mixed media paper in it.  The texture is very subtle, but adding gesso made all the difference...

... in the world.  You can see along the edges where the color appears darker, that's where I didn't get complete coverage with the gesso.

Same technique, this time using Stream and Lettuce Color Wash over gesso.

Those you can't see the shimmer from the Perfect Pearls, this tag used the cling wrap technique too.  I spray one of my custom mists on top of the Color Wash, then applied the plastic wrap.  The Perfect Pearls gather in the creases of the wrap, causing the concentrated look you see here.  The shimmer is very intense in those areas though I know it's not really visible in the photo.  If you want to learn how to make your own custom colors of Perfect Pearls Mists, check out the video here.

This is the tag from the video where I used waxed paper and Lumiere paint.  Texture provides layers and layers make things interesting.

More Stream and Lettuce Color Wash, this time on a page in a Visual Journal, with green paint applied with the crumpled waxed paper technique.

Big bubbles!  The texture that the bubble wrap makes within each of the bubble marks is cool, too.  It's texture within texture and just happens when the bubble wrap is applied to the surface.  I used Distress Inkpads to ink my bubbles, but you can use Archival too for instant dry and no change when other wet media is applied.

More big bubbles, but this time rather than use a piece of bubble wrap I cut out a single bubble and used it alone.  I dipped it into Titanium White heavy body acrylic that was applied to a craft sheet and thinned with a little water.  The black outlines were done with a superfine PITT pen.  A white Gelly Roll pen was dotted over the black.  The background colors were a mix of Color Wash and Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Little bubbles...

And more of them.  Same technique as you saw in the video, just confined to the inner section of this page.

This is the one from the video.  Circles like this are super simple, but super effective.

The same circle technique was used here.  I love the casual, imperfect look the circles provide.

These circles were created using Distress Stain rather than paint.  The effect is looser since the stains bleed when you apply them.  The white circles were created with Picket Fence Distress Stain.  It behaves a little differently since it doesn't bleed quite so much.
