Welcome to Wednesday – it’s MidWeek Muse day!
I’m really excited about today’s video since the techniques I’m demoing are ones I happened upon while playing in my studio. Some of the time play is just play and others… well, really cool stuff comes about.
I was dabbling with Distress paint dabbers, thinking about using them as resists on journal page backgrounds. I was “drawing” with the dabber tops, creating random designs on a page spread, when a light went off in my head and it occurred to me that I could layer colors in a circular pattern and they kind of looked like flower heads. Out came a sheet of paper and I was off, swirling paint and doodling over the patterns once they dried. The next thing I knew I had a sheet full of doodled flowers!
Then the “ok, what else can I do with this” challenge presented itself and I was off again, creating different patterns. This new group didn’t lend themselves to flowers, but then the idea of stamping over them hit me and the next thing I knew I had sheets and sheets of colorful stamped designs!

Hi Barbara
Just a question, do the distress paints have the dabber tops or do they need to be purchased separately ? Love the flowers they look so nice.
Cheers
Angie
