Tombow markers - water-based, acid free, and available in many colors and a colorless blender.
Here are some samples of the of what Marie calls "brush
blending" in her book Time To Tangle With Color.
This flower was made with the press and lift technique.
I brush blended two colors in the petals and leaves, though the color change in
the leaves is fairly subtle.
My Zentangle leaves from the video. Two colors of green
used with a colorless marker.
Another of my Zentangle tangles. They remind me of fish
eyes and freak Jess out, just the littlest bit! The turquoise was loaded
onto a colorless blender and then brushed on.
Here is the sample from the video where I used a can of
compressed air to spray the ink from the pen onto a piece of paper. Interesting to use as the
background of a journal page or to achieve the layered look on one.
This is another I was messing with. If you allow enough ink out of the pen you can use the air to really move it out on the page.
This flower is not from the video. I was messing around,
trying to create a stylized alphabet with the pens, when the idea for the flower
popped into my head. The alphabet is still in the works... Both the flower petals and leaves were brush blended. S U P P L I E S |
